therefore American currency must be exchanged into Canadian before any gaming action begins.

All cages exchange USD into CDN at the bank rates established that day by the Bank of Canada. 

On Saturdays and Sundays the exchange rate will be the rate established on the previous Friday.

Also you can exchange currency at any of the Currency Exchange Machines located conveniently throughout the gaming area. If you use the ATM’s located throughout the gaming floor your bank will automatically perform the exchange rate for you and Canadian currency will be dispensed. You can exchange your CDN back into USD at any of the cages.

The bank rates established do have a small difference between selling USD and buying USD back. 

The rate usually has a $0.04 difference depending on what the Bank of Canada establishes the rate to be that day. 

Therefore if the exchange rate is 1.00 and 1.04 then if you exchange $100 USD you will receive $100 CDN 

but you will need $104 CDN to get back the $100 USD.

Premium Exchange Rate was established to help offset the exchange rate difference for qualifying guests on buy-in and then buy-out. Any guest with a tier score of 50,000 or higher either last tiering year or this tiering year is eligible for the Premium Exchange Rate.

A guest that is given Premium Exchange Rate simply presents their Total Rewards Card at the cage when exchanging USD into CDN and then again for the return exchange. A guest must exchange USD into CDN first in order to take advantage of the premium rate and can only buy back up to the amount they bought in for in that gaming day. Any additional exchange must revert back to the bank rates.

If a guest exchanges USD into CDN multiple times the process is the same and the cage will keep track of their total buy-in however they must exchange their CDN back into USD by the end of the gaming day (4am) in order to take advantage of the premium rate. (The reason this is done is the rate can change from day to day). Any time after that, all exchange will revert back to the bank rates.

So if the exchange rate is 1.00 and 1.04 then the Premium Exchange Rate would be 1.02 for both buy-in and buy-out. If a guest exchanges $100 USD they will receive $102 CDN and when buying USD back they will only need $102 CDN to get back their $100 USD. Again after this amount is reached any additional CDN funds will be exchanged back into USD at the original exchange rate.

Please note that if you retrieve money from the ATM’s located throughout the gaming floor funds will be dispensed in CDN but the premium exchange cannot be applied.

Markers are given in Canadian Currency however the premium exchange rate is applied to the amount needed to pay off the markers for qualified guests. If the marker goes to the bank the premium rate established on the day the marker was taken will be applied to the amount needed to clear the marker.

If a patron does not qualify for the premium exchange rate then the markers will be cleared using the exchange rate set on the day the marker was drawn.
