Caribbean Stud Poker is a casino favorite - partly because it's so simple to learn, but mostly because of unique poker excitement this innovative game provides. What makes Caribbean Stud stand out is the opportunity for players to make an optional side bet, where you can win all (or a portion) of an expanding progressive jackpot.

Caribbean Stud Poker Rules

Caribbean Stud Poker is based upon Five Card Stud. To receive cards, the player must make an ante (the opening bet) as well as decide whether to place a bet for the progressive jackpot (more information below). Each player is then dealt five cards. The dealer is also dealt five cards with one card face up. After examining their hand, the player has the option of a) folding, forfeiting their ante, or b) calling and making an additional wager that is exactly double the amount of the ante.

To continue to play, the dealer must have an Ace/King combination or better. If the dealer's hand doesn't qualify, all antes are paid and the hand is over. If the dealer does qualify to play and the player wins, the player wins even money on the ante and is paid according to the Bonus Payout Schedule (see below) for their additional Call Bet. Progressive jackpot payouts are made regardless of whether the player has beaten the dealer's hand.

Please feel free to ask any of our professional and friendly dealers or pit supervisors for assistance in learning Caribbean Stud Poker or any of the many games that we offer. They will be happy to answer your questions.

Game Terminology

Ante Bet
Each player makes this opening bet in order to play.

Fold
If the player believes his hand will not beat the dealer's after the cards are dealt, then the player has the option to forfeit his ante bet (without risking additional bets).

Call (or Call Bet)
If the player believes his hand will beat the dealer's, then the player has the option to place an additional bet that is exactly twice the original ante bet.

Dealer Must Qualify
If the dealer does not have an Ace/King or higher, the dealer cannot open and the hand is over. All players who stayed in the hand are paid even money on their antes.
