Located outside the Beach Tower, colorful reef fish and gentle rays create a kaleidoscope inside a Bahamian cave. Peering through giant viewing windows into the 500,000-gallon lagoon, guests can see French angelfish, parrotfish, butterfly fish, squirrelfish and live soft corals. During feedings, they will see the rays being fed by hand.

Features:

Spotted Eagle Ray

Aetobatus narinari
These shy rays swim continuously, only stopping to probe the bottom to find food items of clams, worms, shrimp, sea urchins and other bottom-dwellers. Found globally around reef habitats and in the open ocean, they are an important food item for large sharks. They can grow to a width of 6 ft.

French Angelfish

Holocanthus ciliaris
The most colorful angelfish in The Bahamas, their color patterns allow them to blend in with coral reefs. They are sponge-eaters with strong jaws of overlapping rows of teeth to tear the tough sponge fibers. They secrete thick mucus coatings around bits of sponges to help protect their stomachs from the irritating spines.
